New yarns available
All that wholesale yarn going out, and only a few skeins for A Piece of Vermont. So sorry. I'm also sorry that of the new yarns I put up, this one is not going directly into my stash. I have added black, as I mentioned, to my dye collection, and I think I'm in love with what it can do alongside other colors, like this:
This and two other new colors are available now at the handpainted yarns section of A Piece of Vermont.
And, after all that talk of self-striping yarns, I couldn't leave that section empty. I only have two skeins of self-striping available right now, and one will be posted tomorrow if the intended recipient shows a little restraint decides she can't afford it right now. There is, however, this in the self-striping department:
I'm calling it "Lumberjack" because, when the contrasting colors are knitted up in stripes, I think it will resemble the plaid colors of a lumberjack's wool coat. This is a random-width, six-stripe repeat. I feel like the skeins of self-striping yarn come across as very strident and contrast-y, something I don't care for in the regular handpainted stuff. But in stripes, the colors show in blocks, and it gives a nice effect. At least, that's what you hope for.
Well, my men just returned from their trip to Mass., so computer time is over.

Well..... I'm only going to show restraint because I spent way too much money at the shopt today. I'm going to make this:

And with 3 skeins of Koigu and Silky Wool, and a new thingy for my circs AND 4 bottles of dye? Um. I probably shouldn't buy anything more today.
And there was that Knitpicks order too.
Dayum. Bad Scout huh?
